Certifications ensure compliance in tenders for public administration
Berlin 22.07.2025, SysEleven, a sovereign cloud provider from Germany and a wholly owned subsidiary of secunet Security Networks AG, has been certified by Red Hat as a Validated Cloud Service Provider. As one of the few sovereign providers of public cloud platforms in the DACH region, SysEleven allows you to operate Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift in full compliance with the GDPR under the highest compliance and security requirements.
Public sector and KRITIS environment clients who use Red Hat to further develop applications and specialist processes, for example, can continue to use their Red Hat subscriptions to operate Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift with comprehensive support directly on SysEleven’s OpenStack Cloud. Clients can also take advantage of additional consulting and operating services for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift as a managed service. This enables a seamless transition to SysEleven and secunet, while Red Hat is simply carried forward.
This new partnership and its portfolio are of particular interest to the following users:
- System houses and system integrators who are bidding for modernization projects with a focus on digitally sovereign solutions from public clients. SysEleven fulfills the essential certification requirements such as IT-Grundschutz and C5.
-
Public sector clients who want to outsource their operations for the digitalization of their administration can operate the new, additional tasks they are facing in an easily scalable infrastructure. They do not need to set up new or additional data centers.
-
Companies that are part of critical infrastructures (KRITIS) can successfully pass audits thanks to SysEleven’s numerous and comprehensive certifications.
“Through the partnership with Red Hat, the expertise of SysEleven, and the security competence of secunet, we are setting new standards for sovereign cloud solutions for clients with the highest compliance and security requirements,” explains Andreas Rückriegel, CEO of SysEleven GmbH and VP Cloud Services at secunet. “Our clients benefit from maximum control, verified security, and full flexibility at the same time.”
“Digital sovereignty is essential for German companies and public sector clients. It protects data and operational independence while supporting compliance with regulatory requirements,” explains Gregor von Jagow, Senior Director and Country Manager Germany at Red Hat. “By using open source technologies, clients have the necessary flexibility and freedom to build and operate sovereign digital infrastructures. Our collaboration with SysEleven enables a security-optimized, compliant, and flexible cloud solution that offers public and private organizations exactly this control.”
Together with its parent company secunet, SysEleven is currently preparing for the availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift in the highly secure SINA Cloud – the only sovereign cloud stack whose security components offer authorization (approval) for the processing of classified information in accordance with the VSA (German classified information directive).
