Your Mission
As a Public Cloud provider, we offer a diverse range of services on a distributed platform in our data centers in Germany. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be part of our international team, focusing on enhancing our IaaS solution, particularly in the OpenStack domain. Your responsibilities involve tackling various complex technical challenges to ensure the stability and performance of our IaaS core components. This includes integrating different software systems, conducting problem analyses, engaging in deep reverse engineering, and developing tools. Collaboration with other teams is essential to enhance customer satisfaction.
Details
Your responsibilities:
- Design and deploy IaaS solutions using OpenStack, Linux KVM, and QEMU
- Automation of IT tasks and configuration management with Ansible, as well as the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Vault, Consul and Packer
- Integration and management of Ceph to support distributed storage solutions
- Develop and refine internal tooling using Bash and Python to innovate and streamline processes.
- Expanding our system monitoring using Grafana and Prometheus to maintain and improve system reliability
What you have to bring on board:
- Strong system-level technical skills with a deep understanding of Linux internals, including experience in building, operating, and troubleshooting highly available applications in cloud and on-premises setups
- Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, especially with GitLab, to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance processes
- Hands-on experience with distributed storage systems like Ceph, contributing to a robust Storage solution
- Good Python knowledge for efficient development and optimization, additional system languages like C or Golang are a plus
- Strong interest in contributing to Open Source projects and a professional command of English
