Your Mission
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth operation, security, and ongoing development of our data centers, which provide a stable and high-performance infrastructure for our customers. The role requires adherence to the highest security and quality standards, such as ISO 27001, to ensure a reliable and highly available IT infrastructure. Working with an interdisciplinary team, you will ensure an efficient, scalable, and sustainable data center environment that secures the long-term success and satisfaction of our customers.

Your responsibilities:
- Planning, operating, and further developing the data center infrastructure (server, network, and storage systems) using automation and infrastructure tools
- Ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the data centers, including monitoring relevant KPIs
- Performing maintenance, repair, and hardware tasks, as well as managing remote hands
- Optimizing the data center environment for efficiency and energy savings
- Collaborating with supply chain managers and technical teams on hardware procurement and infrastructure projects
- Occasional travel to data center locations (<20%)
What you have to bring on board:
- Extensive experience in operating Linux-based systems, such as Debian, and core services like DNS, etc.
- Experience with tools for managing and automating IT infrastructure (e.g., Netbox, Puppet, Ansible, Icinga, Prometheus, Terraform)
- Knowledge of data center technologies, including servers, networking, storage systems, and security measures
- Experience in the operation and management of data centers, including climate control, power supply, and access security
- Familiarity with data center standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, TIA-942, BICSI)
- The ability to identify problems and resolve them through deliberate action
Fluency in German and English
